Pioneer sets up R&D in Bengaluru eyes local manufacturing by 2026

Pioneer India Electronics, a subsidiary of Pioneer Corporation of Japan known for its car entertainment and mobility solutions, has launched a new Research & Development (R&D) center in Bengaluru. The company’s dedication to strengthening its local footprint through R&D facilities in Bengaluru and Gurugram is demonstrated by this endeavor. The company intends to begin manufacturing in-car products within India by 2026.
According to senior management, the Bengaluru R&D center will concentrate on driving innovation in various automotive and mobility technologies. It aims to cater to the increasing demand for intelligent, secure, and cost-effective mobility solutions across both developing and urban regions.
This center will be integrated with Pioneer’s worldwide network of research and engineering facilities, with specific emphasis on Automotive Vision & Sensing Technologies (such as dash cams, digital mirrors, Digital Cockpit & Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI), 360° vision camera systems, and linked two-wheeled vehicle solutions.
As part of its growth strategy, Pioneer is currently hiring across a spectrum of engineering fields in India, looking for specialists in embedded software, computer vision, cloud connectivity, mobile integration, and artificial intelligence. The company has plans to substantially increase its R&D staff in India over the coming months. Since its establishment in 2008, Pioneer India has been providing a comprehensive array of in-car products designed for the Indian market, encompassing stereos, speakers, subwoofers, dash cameras, and related accessories.
