NOVOSENSE unveils LED driver ICs to power smarter vehicle lighting

Press Release, 7 November 2025

NOVOSENSE Microelectronics is stepping up the game in automotive lighting with a new portfolio of high-performance LED driver integrated circuits (ICs) designed for both exterior and interior vehicle lighting systems. The new range includes high-side and low-side linear drivers, as well as MCU-integrated solutions for RGB and RGBW ambient light control, delivering precise current regulation, smart diagnostics and robust thermal management—all tailored for today’s advanced vehicle lighting demands.

Among the key offerings are the NSL21912/16/24 series—12, 16 and 24-channel high-side linear drivers offering up to 100 mA per channel and 12-bit PWM dimming, with features like thermal sharing, fault detection, EEPROM for fail-safe operations and optional ASIL-B support. There’s also the NSL23716x low-side variant—a 16-channel driver supporting 100 mA/channel, independent dimming, thermal derating, open/short-circuit detection and over-heat shutdown. For more compact applications, the NSL2163x three-channel driver handles up to 200 mA per channel, spans a 5–40 V supply range and manages thermal balance through external shunts. And for ambient lighting control, the NSUC1500 integrates an ARM Cortex-M3 core and four high-precision LED drivers with 16-bit PWM and 6-bit analog dimming, while meeting automotive reliability standards like AEC-Q100 Grade 1 and CISPR 25 Class 5.

By equipping automakers and Tier-1 suppliers with a deeply featured, modular IC portfolio, NOVOSENSE enables the development of lighting systems that are safer, more energy-efficient and highly customizable—whether for exterior body lights or cabin ambient lighting. With this launch, NOVOSENSE further underlines its capability in delivering automotive-grade solutions as it has already shipped more than 980 million automotive chips as of mid-2025.
