New post-quantum cybersecurity layer: AUTOCRYPT rolls out quantum-ready PKI for cars

Press Release, 10 December 2025

South-Korea’s automotive cybersecurity specialist AUTOCRYPT has launched a new offering called AutoCrypt PKI‑Vehicles — a Public-Key Infrastructure (PKI) solution built for the post-quantum era. The system supports ML‑DSA, a digital-signature algorithm recently picked by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) under the FIPS 204 post-quantum standard. This positions AutoCrypt among the very first vendors offering quantum-resistant security tailored for automakers and vehicle suppliers.

With quantum computing inching closer to breaking today’s cryptographic safeguards, the automotive industry is under growing pressure to “future-proof” vehicle security. AutoCrypt PKI-Vehicles enables OEMs to issue and manage quantum-safe digital certificates for in-vehicle ECUs, telematics modules, V2X communications, Plug & Charge systems, and more — without scrapping their existing infrastructure. The system can run in parallel with classical cryptographic setups, giving automakers a smooth migration path to quantum-resistant security.

According to AUTOCRYPT’s co-founder, this launch signals a pivotal moment: quantum computing is no longer a distant threat, but an urgent call for rethinking cybersecurity in mobility. With this product, automakers can safeguard vehicles and connected systems against tomorrow’s cyber risks, while staying compliant with emerging global standards.

AUTOCRYPT plans to showcase the solution globally at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2026), offering OEMs and suppliers a first-look at a quantum-ready approach to automotive security.
