Musashi Seimitsu Industry Co., Ltd. has kicked off full-scale production of its advanced e-axle drive units at its Bangalore facility through subsidiary Musashi Auto Parts India Pvt. Ltd., marking a key step into India’s booming two-wheeler electric vehicle (EV) market. The e-axle — a compact, integrated system combining an electric motor and gearbox designed specifically for EVs — will go into production with an initial capacity of 10,000 units per month.
The launch comes amid a larger investment phase (₹ 160 crore/INR) to build and upgrade EV transmission lines, with a goal of achieving local supply-chain localisation of up to two-thirds of costs by the end of the fiscal year. Musashi’s e-axle units are targeted at India’s mainstream two-wheeler EV segment — especially models equivalent to conventional 125 cc scooters — and will support both domestic and export markets (Africa & ASEAN). By providing a high-performing, lightweight, and quiet drive solution, the company aims to accelerate EV adoption in India while strengthening its global automotive component footprint.
