Momenta & Qualcomm unveil advanced driving solutions
Date: April 24, 2024. — Momenta, a self-driving car tech company that develops software for advanced driver-assistance systems and autonomous vehicles, in collaboration with Qualcomm, has announced the launch of new intelligent driving solutions. These solutions are designed to enhance advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving (AD) functionalities. The announcement was made on April 22, and it marks a significant step in the development of scalable intelligent driving technology.
The collaboration has led to the creation of automotive products that utilize Momenta’s “One flywheel” core technology-driven algorithm architecture. This architecture is built for full-process data-driven insights and is combined with Qualcomm’s latest-generation Snapdragon Ride platform (SA8620 and SA8650P). The result is a scalable, high-efficiency architecture that supports various driving scenarios, from highway navigation pilot (HNP) to urban navigation pilot (UNP).
These new products offer dense computing performance ranging from 36TOPS to 100TOPS, which is a notable improvement over previous systems. Moreover, they are designing them to support intelligent driving functionalities across a wide range of vehicle models. This includes both new energy vehicles and traditional oil-fueled vehicles.
One of the key benefits of this new solution is its potential to reduce hardware system BOM costs for automakers. Moreover, this could accelerate the integration of intelligent driving technology into vehicles and promote wider adoption across the industry.
Momenta and Qualcomm are also exploring the development of additional solutions based on the Snapdragon Ride platform and Snapdragon Ride Flex SoC (SA8775P). Their goal is to create advanced intelligent driving solutions that integrate cabin-driving fusion functionalities.
The company expects to deploy the new intelligent driving products in production models later this year. Moreover, they will provide advanced features for global automakers.
