LG to unveil generative AI-powered mobility platform at CES 2026
Press Release, 12 December 2025
LG Electronics is set to spotlight a breakthrough in vehicle technology at CES 2026 in Las Vegas (January 6–9) with the debut of its AI Cabin Platform, a generative AI-driven system designed to transform the in-car experience and usher in what the company calls the AI-defined vehicle (AIDV) era. Built to run on automotive high-performance computing (HPC) systems powered by Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon® Cockpit™ Elite processor, this new platform blends powerful AI models — including vision language models (VLMs), large language models (LLMs) and image generation tools — directly into the vehicle’s infotainment ecosystem without relying on external cloud servers.
What sets the AI Cabin Platform apart is its on-device generative AI processing, which enables real-time responsiveness, enhanced privacy, and more secure operation while interpreting data from both internal and external cameras to understand driving conditions and driver behavior. This approach allows the system to actively offer context-aware insights and alerts — for instance, prompting the driver about merging traffic if it detects a potential hazard the driver hasn’t noticed — and to dynamically adjust the infotainment experience based on environmental cues like weather and mood. LG also plans to demonstrate how the system can tailor digital cockpit visuals and recommendations in ways that feel intuitive and personalized.
The launch of the AI Cabin Platform builds on LG’s growing collaboration with Qualcomm, following last year’s showcase of a unified high-performance computing solution that integrated infotainment and advanced driver assistance functions into a single controller. By embedding generative AI directly into the in-vehicle environment, LG aims to push beyond the current software-defined vehicle model toward a future where vehicles not only manage tasks but proactively understand and respond to drivers’ needs. The company will present this vision at a private CES 2026 event, offering a first look at how AI can meaningfully elevate safety, personalization and connectivity on the road.
