LG Display gets automotive cybersecurity badge

Press Release, 9 December 2025

In a milestone for automotive display safety, LG Display has become the first display-maker worldwide to win formal cybersecurity certification for its in-vehicle screens. On December 8, 2025, the company announced that its latest automotive OLED panels secured the ISO/SAE 21434:2021 certification underwritten by UL Solutions validating that LG Display meets rigorous standards for protecting vehicle displays against cyber threats throughout their entire lifecycle.

This certification isn’t just symbolic. It reflects a careful design and manufacturing process: from building displays with anti-hacking features during development to embedding circuit–level security safeguards during production. As vehicles increasingly evolve into software-defined systems, in-car screens dashboards, infotainment units, digital instrument clusters are becoming a vital interface between drivers and a car’s digital brain. That makes them a potential target, and LG’s proactive step helps ensure safer digital cockpits.

For automakers and mobility suppliers, this move gives LG Display a clear edge in a shifting regulatory environment especially in regions such as Europe, where cybersecurity compliance is becoming mandatory even for parts suppliers. With mass production of the certified OLED displays slated for next year, LG Display aims to leverage this credential to strengthen its position in premium vehicle projects worldwide.
