Lamborghini unveils its electric concept car- Lanzador
Lamborghini chose Monterey Car Week to debut its concept car- Lanzador. Its a preview of the future fourth model announced by the company and planned for 2028. Aligned with Direzione Cor Tauri, this concept signifies a vital move towards the 2021-declared decarbonization and electrification goals.
With an innovative Gran Turismo 2+2 concept, the Lanzador stands out for its rebellious and futuristic design. Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, remarked: “With this concept, we are ushering in a new car segment, the Ultra GT. It aims to provide customers with a new and unparalleled driving experience, one that embodies the essence of Lamborghini, thanks to groundbreaking technologies.”
The Lanzador features two electric motors, one for each axle, offering all-wheel drive and efficiency in all driving conditions. Moreover, the system delivers a peak power that exceeds one megawatt.
The driver can independently adjust the control systems while on the road via controls on the sports steering wheel. Consequently, they can actively modify the car’s behavior, effectively creating their own individual profile. By doing so, they can best express their driving needs and ensure unimagined emotions.
The new version of the driving dynamics control system, Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI), will set another benchmark for the House of Sant’Agata Bolognese. This applies to both concept cars and future production cars. The control system offers drivers complete customization, letting them adjust active systems for optimal driving according to preferences.
Active Aerodynamics enhances Lanzador, optimizing aerodynamics in various driving modes with front and rear adjustments for maximum efficiency. This technology enables the car to regulate airflow precisely, increasing the range in Urban mode and increasing downforce in Performance mode.
In addition, thanks to its steerable rear axle and air suspension, the Lanzador adapts flawlessly to any surface and to driver-defined settings. Can quickly and directly adjust these settings while on the road using steering wheel controls.
Through Lanzador, Lamborghini envisions the future, embracing new exterior and interior styles for upcoming designs and innovations. It offers an entirely new experience in terms of spaciousness and comfort.
The interior is a truly futuristic space, incorporating Lamborghini’s “Feel like a pilot” approach. An ergonomic space hosts driver/passenger; a slim control panel enables real-time adjustments to car behavior during driving. Utilizing merino wool and regenerated carbon fiber, the interior showcases the company’s eco-conscious dedication to minimizing environmental effects. This is done without sacrificing the luxury and comfort typical of a Lamborghini. Some of the non-visible plastic elements, such as the foam in the sports seats, are made from 3D-printed recycled fibers.
Lanzador is a significant Lamborghini milestone, showcasing their commitment to electrify vehicles and achieve complete decarbonization across their range. The concept car contributes to a CO2-cutting strategy, fostering sustainability and a greener future through innovative design and approach.
A future of electrification: this is the direction Lamborghini is headed in. The brand strongly embraces performance, tech, unique design, and luxury auto leadership in its core values and identity.
