Kinetic Group ventures into the production of EV batteries

Kinetic Group announced on Friday that it is establishing a battery manufacturing facility in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, with INR 500 million investment. The facility will manufacture 60,000 Range-X batteries for two- and three-wheeler EVs.
Kinetic Group said its Range-X batteries will be based on LFP technology and equipped with stable chemical composition which significantly mitigates the risk of thermal runaway, providing optimal performance under extreme temperatures and featuring intelligent BMS integration that improves efficiency and battery health overall. The facility will also produce NMC (Nickel Manganese, Cobalt) types of batteries. Its NMC batteries will based on leading energy density technology, which offers longer-lasting power for various uses.
Moreover, Kinetic Group is engaged in the development of cutting-edge technology and the localisation of the BMS, as well as PM E-drive PLI schemes that are part of the Make in India initiative. The Kinetic Group intends to provide the batteries to OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) beyond its own use.
