Kia India rolls out industry-first “Plant Remote OTA”
News, 10 November 2025
Kia India is raising the bar in connected mobility with its new Plant Remote OTA system, a first-of-its-kind innovation in which software updates are delivered to vehicles before they leave the factory. The feature, now available on models equipped with Kia’s Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (CCNC) platform, ensures that cars roll out of the manufacturing line with the latest infotainment, navigation, connected-services software and security patches already installed.
This new system is built on Controller-OTA functionality aligned with Connected Car System 2.0 standards (CCS 2.0) and is designed to reduce the post-delivery hassles for buyers. Rather than spending time at a dealership for updates or worrying that their vehicle is shipped with outdated software, owners will get a seamless “ready-to-drive” experience from day one. Kia hopes this move will strengthen its tech-forward positioning and enhance customer satisfaction in India’s competitive connected-vehicle space
By executing updates during the production-to-delivery window, Kia India is also tackling the often-overlooked gap between manufacture and retail – a period when vehicles may sit idle or transit with older software. With Plant Remote OTA, the OEM aims to bridge that gap and provide consistent, up-to-date performance across its portfolio of connected models. The rollout will extend to future Kia models equipped with the CCNC architecture, signaling a broader ambition to make day-one digital readiness standard in its lineup.
