Invers makes Teslas car sharing ready without extra hardware
Press Release, 1 October 2025
Car-sharing operators can now integrate Tesla vehicles into their fleets more easily, thanks to a new solution from Invers. Announced on October 1, 2025, Invers OEM Integrations allows Teslas to be used for professional car-sharing services without the need for additional telematics hardware. By enhancing Tesla’s existing API, Invers transforms connected vehicles into sharing-ready cars with all the key features operators need.
With just a one-time authorization, operators can instantly onboard any number of Teslas—from one vehicle to thousands—while accessing essential data points like location, mileage, charging status, and central locking. This eliminates the need for workshop visits, reduces costs, and speeds up the process of adding or removing vehicles from fleets. Beyond the basics, Invers also provides advanced features such as monitoring adapter usage, seatbelt status, and ensuring sensitive driver data, like navigation history, is automatically cleared after each trip.
What makes this solution stand out is Invers’ expertise in optimizing Tesla’s API for real-world car-sharing operations. For example, it reduces unnecessary data requests to control costs, manages vehicle “sleep” modes to keep performance consistent, and activates Guest Mode at the start of every rental to safeguard vehicle settings. Operators using Teslas through Invers enjoy the same workflow and booking system experience as they do with vehicles equipped with the company’s CloudBoxx technology, meaning no software changes are needed.
According to Alexander Kirn, CEO of Invers, this is the first time an OEM API has proven truly suitable for professional car-sharing at scale. The move signals a broader industry shift, where connected car technology can eliminate hardware costs and streamline fleet management. With this development, Invers continues to build on its mission of making shared mobility more convenient and cost-effective than ownership.
