Indo National mulls entry into EV battery & e-waste recycling
Nippo battery maker Indo National mulls entry into EV battery & e-waste recycling.
Indo National Ltd (INL) is exploring setting up battery recycling and electric vehicle (EV) batteries plant.
To increase its presence in these sectors, INL is considering a number of strategies, such as joint ventures and direct investment. The company wants to introduce novel solutions to the market by fusing its production experience with start-ups’ R&D capabilities.
“We have the capacity to scale, commercialize, and distribute things, whereas startups are skilled at product invention and prototyping. These initiatives would also be supported by our wide network in both B2B and B2C markets”, said Pavan Kumar BVS, Chief Operating Officer of Indo National Ltd.
Battery recycling involves investigating waste management opportunities, particularly in relation to the recycling of batteries and e-waste. It is negotiating with both foreign and Indian industries. While INL would offer local knowledge and serve as the distribution and logistics partner in India, these businesses have cutting-edge recycling technology.
He claimed that the collecting procedure is one of the main obstacles to recycling. INL intends to create effective reverse logistics systems for gathering batteries and e-waste by utilizing its distribution network.
Recycling initiatives can provide a wide range of byproducts with different uses. While some by-products can be used to make paints and chemicals, others can be recycled into fertilizer for agriculture. Furthermore, some elements, such as zinc, which is an essential part of zinc-carbon batteries, can be utilized again in production.
These initiatives seek to increase INL’s sustainability and generate additional income in the expanding recycling and EV sectors.
