India’s SmartSoC and Korea’s DB HiTek join forces to boost analog & mixed signal foundry access
Press Release, 24 September 2025
India’s semiconductor landscape is set to gain strength as SmartSoC Solutions announces a strategic partnership with DB HiTek, a Korean speciality foundry. Under this collaboration, SmartSoC will act as DB HiTek’s design partner in India handling technical engagements, promoting services, and serving as the go-to local interface for customers seeking analog and mixed-signal fabrication.
The move aligns with India’s increasing push under production-linked incentives (PLI) and growing demand for local foundry services. It promises to help Indian firms cut down time-to-market, improve innovation velocity, and bridge gaps between chip design and silicon fabrication.
SmartSoC, founded in 2016, already has experience in design, development, verification, and validation of semiconductors across automotive, consumer electronics, telecom, and industrial sectors. DB HiTek has long specialised in analogue, power, RF, CMOS image sensors, and mixed-signal process technologies.
According to SmartSoC CEO Bharath Desareddy, the partnership underpins their vision of “empowering India’s semiconductor industry by providing access to best-in-class fabrication capabilities.” Sharon Akler, DB HiTek’s European Sales VP, added that India is emerging as a key node in the global semiconductor ecosystem, and the tie-up is aimed at making their speciality foundry tech more accessible locally.
In sum, this alliance could help India build stronger “design-to-silicon” capability, particularly for analog/mixed-signal chips domains vital for automotive electronics, RF, sensors and power management. As global supply chains evolve, local partners like SmartSoC may play a central role in ensuring Indian companies can leverage advanced foundry technologies without heavy dependency on overseas interfaces.
