India: Rajasthan Electronics to empanel agencies to set up 1,000 EV charging stations
The Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL) has invited bids for the empanelment of agencies for electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.
The company plans to set up more than 1,000 EV charging stations in 75 plus cities across the country. The scope of work includes the identification of location, development, operation, and maintenance of the interoperable electric chargers and its associated infrastructure for all segments of EVs.
The last date for the submission of bids is October 12, 2020. To take part in the competitive bidding process, the bidder should have experience in the automobile sector, e-mobility, and operation of EV charging infrastructure. The bidder should be financially sound and should be in a condition to invest ₹1 billion (~$13.57 million) in the EV charging infrastructure business.
The Department of Heavy Industries has approved 2,636 EV charging stations in 62 cities across 24 states and union territories under the second phase of FAME India (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India) program.
