India: Need to find ‘swadeshi alternative’ to imports from China, says MoRTH Minister

Union minister Shri Nitin Gadkari on 12th Dec. said there was a need to seek out swadeshi (homegrown) alternative for products India currently imports, without compromising on their quality and costs. The minister made the statement during a virtual session of FICCI’s 93rd Annual General Convention.
Highlighting the special focus of the Centre on the MSME sector, Gadkari stated that there is a plan to extend the entire turnover of Indian rural industry to Rs 2 lakh crore from the current Rs 80 thousand crores within the next two years.
