Hyundai unveils “MobED”- a production ready mobility robot platform

Press Release, 4 December 2025

The Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) has officially launched its first production-ready mobility robot platform named MobED (Mobile Eccentric Droid), marking a big leap from concept to real-world readiness. The debut took place at the iREX 2025 robotics exhibition in Tokyo, where the company demonstrated both “MobED Basic” and “MobED Pro” variants — built to serve a wide range of applications from logistics and deliveries to research and entertainment.

MobED brings together advanced hardware and AI-powered autonomy. It uses LiDAR-camera fusion sensors, a unique eccentric posture control mechanism, and modular drive-and-lift (DnL) components to maintain balance and adapt smoothly even on irregular terrain. This adaptability makes it a versatile platform suited to tasks ranging from warehouse logistics to video production support.

With production slated for the first half of 2026, MobED represents Hyundai’s next step in expanding beyond traditional vehicle manufacturing — embracing robotics as a core pillar of its future mobility strategy. By blending smart autonomy with robust physical design, Hyundai aims to launch a robot platform capable of integrating into everyday industrial and commercial operations, setting the stage for a world where human and robotic mobility coexist seamlessly.
