Horizon to supply fuel cell system for heavy duty long rage trucks
News, 15 July 2025
Horizon Fuel Cell Group has entered into a partnership with Shanghai Wuliu Automotive Technology to supply 100 advanced fuel cell systems for Z Truck Automotive Technology’s new fleet of 42-ton trucks. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in zero-emission commercial transportation, promoting sustainable logistics through enhanced performance and exceptional long-distance capability.
These hydrogen trucks can travel more than 1,500 kilometers on a single fuelling, greatly alleviating range anxiety and fully supporting the needs of intensive, heavy-duty operations. These trucks are powered by Horizon’s VL-III Series fuel cell systems and equipped with integrated local hydrogen storage.
Since 2022, hundreds of VL-III Series fuel cell systems have been deployed in real-world applications worldwide, establishing a track record of dependable performance.
Horizon is also set to launch the next-generation VLS-IV Series, a 400kW stack that will cut hydrogen consumption by up to 20% while increasing service life, further advancing heavy-duty fuel cell technology.
