HARMAN’s car display hits industry with HDR10+ automotive certification
Press Release, 14 November 2025
In a significant leap for in-vehicle technology, HARMAN International has announced that its “Ready Display” system is the first automotive display to secure the HDR10+ Automotive certification effectively bringing home-theatre-level visuals into the car cabin. The certification, developed in collaboration with HDR10+ Technologies LLC (and backed by partners such as Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and Panasonic Corporation), ensures that displays can reliably reproduce high dynamic range content with accurate brightness, contrast and colour fidelity — even in the challenging lighting environment of a moving vehicle.
HARMAN’s Ready Display range which includes models NQ3, NQ5 and NQ7 built on Samsung’s Neo QLED technology incorporates intelligent algorithms that dynamically adjust for ambient lighting changes and viewing angles, offering cinematic depth and detail whether you’re in bright daylight or under city lights. For automakers, this milestone opens up a new path to differentiate with premium in-cab visuals; for consumers, it means striking visual performance for entertainment, navigation and infotainment on the go. According to HARMAN’s vice-president for the Ready Display business, the company has long aimed to “bring the living-room experience into the car”, and earning this world-first HDR10+ Automotive certification fulfils that vision.
