EDGE Group & Anduril launch UAE-US joint venture for autonomous air systems
Press Release, 14 November 2025
EDGE Group (UAE) and Anduril Industries (USA) have announced a strategic joint venture — the EDGE-Anduril Production Alliance to co-develop and manufacture advanced autonomous systems in Abu Dhabi. Their first collaborative product will be Omen, a hover-to-cruise autonomous air vehicle (AAV) capable of vertical take-off and winged flight, combining endurance and payload flexibility into a compact, runway-independent design.
Under the deal, the UAE has committed to purchase 50 Omen systems, ensuring a firm production base that kickstarts local supply chains and sets the stage for mass manufacturing in the region. The AAV will run on Anduril’s Lattice mission autonomy software, allowing swarms of drones to coordinate, adapt, and carry out complex missions.
The joint venture also includes a 50,000 sq ft R&D centre in Abu Dhabi, aimed at training regional talent and facilitating advanced prototyping, simulation and system integration entirely in the UAE.
This move not only strengthens the UAE-US defence technology relationship, but also helps establish a sovereign and scalable production base for autonomy-enabled platforms, with potential civilian and military uses.
