Desay SV and NTT DATA have announced a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the rise of software-defined vehicles (SDVs). The collaboration, unveiled at IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, merges Desay SV’s expertise in intelligent in-vehicle systems with NTT DATA’s strengths in AI, cybersecurity, global infrastructure, and cloud services. Together, they plan to deliver an SDV platform that spans from the vehicle itself to cloud services and mobile applications. OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) will be able to leverage this platform to offer richer digital services, personalize in-car experiences, and roll out updates and features more quickly.
A core aspect of the partnership is embedding AI throughout the SDV stack on-vehicle edge intelligence, cloud-based analytics, and predictive services—to support multitouch interactions such as voice, gesture, and eye tracking. NTT DATA also emphasizes that automakers will retain control over customer data and ensure compliance with regional data regulations. The move aims to support Chinese automakers expanding into European and other overseas markets, enabling them to compete on technology, speed, and compliance. The new model is expected to create new revenue streams for automakers, improve development cycles, and enhance user experience.
