Cox Automotive launches new platform for fully digital car buying across all channels
Press Release, 21 October 2025
Global automotive technology provider Cox Automotive has unveiled an industry-first omnichannel e-commerce platform that empowers vehicle retailers to facilitate complete car purchases from browsing to financing and contracting across any digital or in-store channel. The solution allows dealers to integrate full transactional capabilities on their own websites, in addition to leveraging Cox Automotive’s marketplaces like Kelley Blue Book and Autotrader, all within a unified infrastructure.
According to Cox’s recent study, 65 % of car buyers now complete some or all of the purchase process online. With rising new-vehicle prices, constrained used-car supply and mounting affordability pressure, the company says offering a seamless, digital-first buying experience will be key for dealers to protect sales volumes and market share. As one example, the implementation by Hertz Car Sales enables full online purchasing of used vehicles (many under US $15,000) via launched retailer sites and Autotrader, powered by Cox’s platform.
Cox Automotive highlights that this platform differs from traditional bolt-on tools by delivering a complete e-commerce engine built to orchestrate every step of the vehicle purchase pricing, trade-ins, finance, digital contracting and final checkout whether the buyer engages via a dealer’s branded site or one of Cox’s own marketplaces.
