‘Connected Vehicles’ move from buzzword to business- CCC Report
Press Release, 6 November 2025
The Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC) has published its first-ever comprehensive study, the 2025 Future of Vehicle Connectivity Report, shedding light on how automakers, suppliers and tech firms are shifting from promise to practical rollout in the connected-vehicle space. Drawn from over 250 respondents spanning 20 + countries and more than 300 CCC member companies, the survey revealed that security and ease-of-use top the priority list (60 %), followed by demands for seamless interoperability across devices, vehicles and services.
The report signals key growth vectors: fleet management and GPS tracking lead (72 % of respondents), with rideshare and rental vehicle connectivity also gaining ground (62 %). On the tech front, standards such as Bluetooth LE (84 %), ultra-wideband (77 %) and NFC (75 %) emerged as critical enablers for true multi-device automotive connectivity. With a projection in the realm of a $600 billion value by 2030 for software-defined vehicles (cited by Deloitte in the report), CCC’s findings underscore how the connected-vehicle ecosystem is maturing into a revenue-driving platform rather than a conceptual add-on. In essence, the report highlights that as user expectations shift toward frictionless access, trusted data and interoperability, connectivity is fast becoming a core vehicle feature—not just a nice-to-have.
