Bosch broadens its remote diagnostics service with new features and brand support
Press Release, 1 October 2025
Bosch is rolling out significant upgrades to its Remote Diagnostics Service (RDS), making it more accessible and capable for multi-brand repair shops. In a move to simplify complex servicing tasks, Bosch now allows workshop technicians to request support instantly via chat, without first booking an appointment. This feature—expanded into markets including Sweden, Norway, and Finland, with more countries to follow—puts users into a virtual queue until an expert becomes available.
Beyond enhanced access, Bosch is also extending the range of vehicle brands and diagnostic protocols supported through RDS. The update adds support for Chinese OEMs like MG and BYD, and lays the groundwork for integrating vehicles using DoIP (Diagnostics over Internet Protocol)—starting with Mercedes, Volvo, and Volkswagen. Workshops connect to the service using Bosch’s RDS 500 device or KTS modules (560 or 590), enabling remote access and guided repairs over a secure link. Bosch says this expansion helps workshops handle intricate repairs without having to rely on manufacturer-authorized support, improving speed and efficiency.
