Bill Gates believes that autonomous vehicles (AVs) will bring paradigm shift in transportation. He compared autonomous vehicle impact on transportation being similar to that of personal computers in office work.
Convinced about future of autonomous vehicle, Bill Gates has invested in Glydways, a robotaxi startup based in San Francisco. The investment was made through Gates Frontier, his venture capital fund, and was part of a Series B fundraising round that raised a total of $56 million for Glydways. Other major investors in the round included New Science Ventures, Khosla Ventures, and Spanish construction company ACS Group.
