Apollo Intelligent Transportation (Guangzhou) Co.,Ltd., on August 28 won the bidding for the “new infrastructure” project initiated by local authority of Huangpu district / Guangzhou Development District and themed autonomous driving and V2X (vehicle-to-everything) smart transport.
Under the project that involves a contract value of 460 million yuan ($66,880,872), Baidu will undertake the development of the V2X road network, intelligent intersections, IoV (Internet of Vehicles) and other application systems.
On the same day, Baidu forged strategic partnerships with Science City (Guangzhou) Information Technology Group Co.,Ltd. (SCI Group), and Guangzhou Public Transport at the Guangzhou Annual Investment Conference China 2020 for the future cooperation on such areas as autonomous driving, V2X system, intelligent transportation and intelligent connectivity.
Under the agreements, Baidu and SCI Group will jointly launch the services that specialize in the operation of smart city digital transportation business and explore new operational models for urban transportation business operators.
Guangzhou Public Transport will facilitate in areas like autonomous car fleet operation, 5G-enabled self-driving bus and C-V2X technologies, which will enable Robotaxi and Robobus services in city, offered by Baidu.
