Australian hydrogen truck expands its footprint in North American
News, 21 July 2025
Pure Hydrogen Corporation Limited, an Australian leader in clean energy, announced recently it has entered into a Term Sheet with Riverview International Trucks, a US commercial truck dealership based in California. The agreement covers the purchase of a hydrogen-powered refuse truck, specifically the TG23-110 Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle Dual Control Cab Chassis.
The vehicle, which meets California Air Resources Board (CARB) certification as well as other US standards like FMVSS and DoT, will be manufactured in Australia and shipped to Riverview’s West Sacramento facility in California.
Riverview intends to find a customer for this first unit and has shown strong interest in placing additional orders following the successful delivery and integration of the vehicle. This agreement builds on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Pure Hydrogen and Riverview signed earlier in July 2024, paving the way for Pure’s vehicle fleet to enter the US market.
The hydrogen-powered truck will initially function as a demonstration model for potential customers. Together with Riverview, Pure plans to organize drive days at various locations to highlight the vehicle’s capabilities and its potential for fleet use.
This collaboration follows Pure Hydrogen’s recent trip to the US, where the company took part in the ACT Expo 2025, North America’s largest event for clean and advanced commercial vehicle technologies. During the visit, Pure engaged with key industry stakeholders, including fleet operators, distributors, and investors, in major cities like New York and Philadelphia. The company seized this opportunity to present its comprehensive lineup of hydrogen, electric, and hybrid transportation solutions, furthering its strategy to grow its footprint in the North American market.
Although the specific price of the hydrogen truck remains confidential, Pure confirms that it exceeds USD 600,000 but falls under the AUD 1,000,000 sales disclosure threshold.
