Press release- PR Newswire, 11 December 2025
The Audi Group has agreed to a strategic partnership with UST, a U.S.-based technology and digital transformation company, in a move that could reshape design and engineering services in the global automotive sector. As part of the deal, UST will acquire a majority stake in Italdesign Giugiaro S.p.A., the iconic Italian design and engineering firm known for shaping some of Europe’s most influential vehicles. The signing brings together Audi’s long-term collaboration with Italdesign and UST’s deep expertise in AI-powered engineering, digital ecosystems and software-defined vehicle technologies.

Under the new arrangement, Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A., part of the Audi Group, will retain a significant share in Italdesign, and Audi will continue as a strategic partner and key client. The transaction is still subject to regulatory clearances, and financial terms were not disclosed. By combining UST’s global reach and digital engineering capabilities with Italdesign’s creative design and prototyping strength, the partnership aims to offer an integrated service portfolio—from early concept work and vehicle styling to advanced hardware, software development and production support for next-generation vehicles.
