Ather partners with Google to show 2W fast charging stations on Google Maps

~ EV users with LECCS connector standard on their two-wheelers can now find Ather Grids on Google Maps.

India, 28th August 2024: Ather Energy, an electric scooter manufacturers, has collaborated with Google to give real-time availability information on two-wheeler fast charging stations to EV users. This collaboration will allow EV users with the Light Electric Combined Charging System – LECCS (the official Indian EV charging connector standard) on their two-wheelers to find Ather Grid fast chargers on Google with complete live status updates of the chargers.

This update aims to make the charging experience at public charging grids more convenient with the following:

●        Ather fast-charging station, Ather Grid, can now be found on Google Maps with live status updates.

●        Whenever a new charger is installed, it will also be listed on Google Maps.

●        LECCS is now officially recognized as a plug type, allowing users to set their default connector or plug type as LECCS on Google Maps. This means chargers with LECCS will appear when searching for “EV charger near me” or “charging stations,” on Google Maps.

●        This allows any vehicle with LECCS to easily find and charge at Ather fast-charging stations, Ather Grid.

Ather Grid’s fast-charging network for electric two-wheelers is based on the indigenously developed Light Electric Combined Charging System (LECCS), which is approved for nation-wide adoption by the Bureau of Indian Standards. The new standard that was launched last year is widely seen in the industry as the most significant move towards building a universal standard through interoperability, thus paving the way for wider adoption of electric vehicles in the country.

With 1,973 (as of March 30th, 2024) fast chargers already available to the public, Ather Energy is committed to creating a seamless charging experience for its customers.
