ARAI to have test facilities for batteries, ADAS and hydrogen and more

In 2025, The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) plans to invest ₹100 crore in capital projects to strengthen its nationwide research and testing capacities. The intended to meet the changing demands of the automotive and related industries, investments are being made to build state-of-the-art testing facilities and improve the overall infrastructure.
Important Advancements in Testing Facilities
-Several cutting-edge testing facilities at ARAI’s new Mobility Research Centre in Takwe are part of the organization’s ambitious objectives and are in the final phases of construction and are expected to be operational by the following year.
-Future Facilities and Schedules: Battery Safety Testing Lab, this facility, which will be operational by June 2025, will assess advanced battery safety requirements.
-The hydrogen testing facility is anticipated to open by December 2025, coinciding with the industry’s transition to alternate fuels.
-By June 2024, the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Smart City Test Track will be operational.
-Cylinder testing centers and a high energy impact test facility will be built as part of ARAI’s larger infrastructure improvements.
