Nissan and Infinity dealership in US to use Hunter’s Ultimate ADAS calibration system
Hunter Engineering announced that their product, Ultimate ADAS™, has gained approval for deployment in Nissan and Infiniti dealerships.
The Hunter ADAS calibration tool is a system designed to calibrate Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in vehicles. It allows for precise calibration of the various sensors and cameras that make up ADAS features, ensuring that they function accurately and reliably. The tool is engineered to streamline the calibration process for ADAS components, enhancing vehicle safety and performance. The system includes features such as dynamic (driving) ADAS calibration coverage, static (fixture) ADAS calibration, and secure FCA gateway capabilities. Hunter’s ADAS calibration tool is designed to work in conjunction with the ADAS components in modern vehicles, making it an essential tool for automotive service and repair facilities. (~ Merlin)
Nissan and Infiniti(subsidiary of Nissan Motor) dealers in US will be using Hunter Ultimate ADAS calibration tool. Both Nissan and Infiniti vehicles are sold through separate dealership networks, with Nissan dealerships selling a range of vehicles including sedans, trucks, and SUVs, while Infiniti dealerships exclusively sell luxury vehicles under the Infiniti brand. While there is a close relationship between the two in terms of ownership and manufacturing, they operate as distinct brands in the market.
Ultimate ADAS™ focuses on simplifying or automating the calibration of ADAS in vehicles. ADAS encompasses technologies aimed at boosting vehicle safety and aiding drivers in the driving process. Moreover, Ultimate ADAS™ claims to eliminate error-prone manual layouts traditionally associated with calibration processes.
“It’s named Ultimate ADAS™ for a reason,” says Ryan Gerber, Hunter product specialist, ADAS. “It’s the fastest and most precise ADAS calibration system available.”
Ultimate ADAS™ combines Hunter’s standard-setting alignment technology with an efficient and easy-to-use guided target placement system for around-the-vehicle coverage. Gimbal-mounted lasers are the key component, replacing the inexact guesswork of strings, plumb bobs, and tape measures. This helps cut setup time by 70 percent for some procedures.
Hunter’s award-winning WinAlign® software enhances target placement precision through gimbals and onscreen guidance. It automatically compensates for non-level floors, monitors placement errors, and confirms accuracy with laser measurements at every step. The result is a significant improvement in target placement precision.
Automated systems now handle many common and time-consuming manual adjustments, including height, roll, pitch, and yaw.
Ultimate ADAS™ is of particular importance for both customer satisfaction and insurance purposes. Moreover, it provides thorough and easily decipherable documentation of the exact procedures performed and exact target placement. Confirmations can be accessed or printed directly via HunterNet® 2, Hunter’s customer portal.
Additionally, users can conveniently move the Ultimate ADAS™ units as needed around the shop, with compact packaging to keep all the components together.
Ultimate ADAS™, a Hunter wheel aligner, initiates ROI on the day of installation at the dealership and sustains it every day thereafter.
“Calibrating isn’t necessarily difficult, but setting up can consume a lot of time,” Gerber says. “With this new system, techs won’t need to learn geometry on the fly with strings and plumb bobs, since the lasers will locate the precise spots almost instantly.”
Ultimate ADAS™ aims to make the inexact exact.
“Techs can dive right into business and can be confident that they will perform and document calibration properly every time,” Gerber says.
