Rimac has upgraded the vehicle battery warranty of its Nevera hypercar to 8 years and unlimited miles. The warranty is complimentary for all new buyers. It will also be applied to all cars delivered so far, giving Nevera owners an additional seven years of warranty cover for the advanced liquid-cooled 120kWh battery. Rimac’s confidence in its battery technology is evident, as the company designed, engineered, and manufactured it in-house.
Engineers designed the Nevera battery to deliver 1.4MW of power. A team designed it according to strict packaging, weight, and performance targets. The designers chose an H-shaped design, instead of a flat-floor skateboard style arrangement, to enable the driver and passenger to sit low in the car. This is instead of having the feeling of sitting ‘on-top’ of it. The hyper-GT faced the challenge of delivering both impressive long-distance cruising and fade-free performance for the battery.
To achieve these targets, the Rimac team created a Lithium Manganese Nickel chemistry, with water-glycol cooling plates. Several innovations contribute to cooling the battery. One of the most significant is the use of cooling plates that sandwich the cells, as opposed to being only at the top or bottom. This design ensures consistent and efficient cooling throughout the entire pack.
As a result of this innovative design and engineering, the Nevera showcases a broad range of abilities. Last year marked an incredible milestone event. It set 23 speed and performance records in a single day. This achievement required around 30 full-throttle acceleration runs in less than 8 hours, with no discernible drop in performance. The Nevera can travel 490 kilometers (WLTP) or up to 305 miles (EPA) on a single charge. It is capable of charging at 500kW, a speed so rapid that only a handful of public chargers currently exist with this capability.

The 8-year warranty covers all major faults of the battery pack. It includes a guarantee that at the end of the warranty period, the battery will still have a total charge capacity. This capacity should be 75% of that when it was delivered new.
Limited volume Nevera production is advancing at pace at the Rimac headquarters in Croatia. Deliveries are taking place to customers around the world.
