Uber mapping roads in Asia

Uber has got itself engaged in mapping roads in Asia. By doing this the company aims to improve its service in the region for both drivers and passengers. Uber-t'wire

The company  has deployed mapping cars in Singapore for the purpose. The maps that are already available has a lot of information which is irrelevant for the car sharing company , so the company wants purge the extra information out and come up with the precise data.

Uber mapping cars have been used earliar in the U.S., UK, Australia, Mexico, Canada and South Africa. It has even hired two executives from Google’s Maps team — Brian McClendon and Manik Gupta — to manage its efforts in this direction.

Uber had to sell its business in China to its rival Didi Chuxing, Thereafter the company has been making a lot of   effort to stay ahead in Southeast Asia and India.
