Published: June 13, 2016 | San Jose, US

Symbio has launched Symbio’s Connected Car (SCC). The SCC product is intended for the global ultra low-cost Display Audio market, supporting Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Baidu Carlife. Symbio is also collaborating with Tamul Multimedia, a Korean semiconductor vendor specializing in the automotive market, for providing the low cost HW platform based on the ARM9 processor.

Jacob Hsu, CEO of Symbio said:

We are proud of delivering a unique solution to mass market, which now truly enables Connected Car services to all consumers and all car models. Collaboration with Tamul Multimedia has been very beneficial and together we are able to bring a compelling solution to the market.

SCC combined with Tamul Multimedia chipset, enables the expansion of connected car services to segments currently served only with simple FM radios. SCC brings voice recognition, navigation, online music streaming services, telephony integration and 3rd party application ecosystems, which were not earlier available to this specific segment. As of May 2016, the solution has already entered the market via the first automotive OEM’s.

Dr. Y. Jhung, Tamul Multimedia CEO said:

Symbio has been a great innovative co-creation partner for us. Together with Symbio, we made it possible to provide IVI solution at a reasonable cost to the conventional mid – low end car audio segment.
