Maven continuing its North American growth has launched its service in Toronto, Canada’s largest city. Members will be able to seamlessly access cars through a mobile app, including locating, reserving and unlocking them.
Maven is GM owned mobility company that offers car sharing services through a personal mobility app that provides hassle-free, on-demand vehicle access for everyday life. The company will offer 40 vehicles initially, including Chevrolet Cruze, Malibu, Tahoe, Trax and Volt; GMC Acadia and Yukon; and Cadillac ATS and XT5. The cars are packed with technology, including OnStar, Wi-Fi, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as SiriusXM Radio.
Car sharing services is an emerging industry and an increasing number of companies are entering into this space. It has many advantages like it reduces congestion as each shared car takes about 10 private cars off the road. It is also considered as a faster mode of traveling as it is hassle free and there are no concerns about parking etc. With the introduction of new technologies as cars are becoming more expensive to own, car sharing is gaining popularity.
