Apple’s CarPlay and Android Auto may soon be coming to Mazda vehicles

According to some reports, Apple’s CarPlay and Android Auto may soon be coming to Mazda vehicles. The company has not clarified on when support will be coming, or which vehicles might be launched with the technology but it has disclosed that any vehicle sporting a Mazda Connect system will be retroactively upgradable, with a potentially minimal hardware addition needed.

Notably, Mazda had become an official CarPlay partner in 2014 but had not taken any significant step till now. Till now only a few companies like Kia and Hyundai have enabled retroactive upgrades. Some companies have started offering Carplay support in their vehicles and some brands like Audi, BMW and Ford will have this in 2017 and 2018 models. The only exception is Toyota which is not in favor of adding this feature it is cars.
